Today on my Facebook feed I saw a note from one of my favorites, Tim Tyrell-Smith, titled 30 Great Books For Job Search, Career And Life. Tim has earned his spot as a favorite of mine because he’s so passionate about the job search and career stuff.
His books include John Lucht’s super-popular Rites of Passage, Dave Perry’s awesome Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0, Dick Bolles landmark Parachute book, Tom Singer’s networking book Batteries Not Included, Scott Stratten’s Unmarketing book (Scott has an awesome blog about relationship marketing), the ever-popular Harvey Mackay Dig Your Well Before You’re Thirsty book, Pam Slim’s Escape From Cubicle Nation, and many other really excellent reads.
I’ve read a lot of them, have them in my library, or given them out at speaking gigs I do.
If you like to read let me suggest you put some of these on your list for next year… reading this stuff, and starting to think differently about a career and networking and “job security” can only be good for you.
Happy holidays!!
Peter, thanks for capturing this list. I’m a big fan of Tim as well & am always impressed by what he has to say!
